POLİFİX Thermal Insulation Board Plaster, produced by our Group Company KALEBLOKBİMS A.Ş., is a cement-based, polymer-added, high performance, flexible, high stability, fine aggregate plastering mortar specially prepared for Ptpolitek EPS thermal insulation boards.
Application Areas
It is used for plastering EPS thermal insulation boards on the interior and exterior facades of all buildings.
Surface Preparation
The application surface and boards must be cleaned from dust, oil, tar, pitch, paint, silicone, curing material, detergent and mold oils.
The boards to be plastered must be firm and well seated and the gaps between them must be closed with polyurethane foam or the same material.
Preparation of Liquid Mortar
25 kg POLİFİX Thermal Insulation Board Plaster is added into 5.5-6.5 liters of clean water and mixed preferably with a low-speed mixer so that there are no lumps.
The prepared mortar is rested for 5-10 minutes to mature and mixed again 1-2 minutes before starting the application.
The prepared mortar should be consumed within 3 hours. Expired mortar should not be used.
Application Information
At least 24 hours after the EPS thermal insulation boards are doweled, the first layer of plaster with a thickness of approximately 2 mm is applied smoothly on the boards with a steel trowel.
While the applied mortar is still wet, Ptpolitek Reinforcement Mesh is pressed and stretched from top to bottom and embedded into the mortar. After about 6 hours, moisten the surface and cover the mesh with the 2nd coat of plaster (2 mm thick) and smooth the surface for painting with a steel trowel.
To prevent cracking, the reinforcing mesh is overlapped 10 cm at the joint joints.
Wait 2-3 days for painting depending on weather conditions and application thickness.
After the application is completed, if the air temperature is high, the surface should be moistened until the cement sets.
Warnings
Avoid application at temperatures below +5°C and above +35°C.
Avoid application in areas that are frozen, at risk of freezing within 24 hours or exposed to direct sun and wind.
If snowfall or severe cold is expected within one week after the application until the cement sets, the application should not be made and protection measures should be taken.
Dust and water should never be added to mortar that has expired.
Care should be taken not to use boards that have lost their properties by being in the sun for a long time.
The above values are provided under +23°C temperature and 50% relative humidity conditions.

Storage
It can be stored for 12 months on the pallet by stacking up to 10 layers in moisture-free environments and in its unopened packaging.
